Kenpo Karate, the "art of flashing hands", is a combination of Chinese Boxing Arts. Thoughthe hands are its major weapons, effective use of the feet is taught also.
Modern Kenpo was developed by Ed Parker, President and founder of the International Kenpo Karate Association. From his instructor, Professor William Chow, Mr. Parker learned innovative concepts of offensive and defensive techniques. With these techniques Mr. Parker has developed Kenpo into its own more modern and practical form of self-defense.
The endeavor of the Kenpo Martial Artist is to observe the principles of self-control, patience, courtesy, respect for self and others, to further develop Kenpo Karate through diligence and dedication, to defend oneself without brutality and to preserve peace and tranquility.
